UPF 50+ fabric
An 82% polyester blend rated for sun protection, so the fabric itself does the work on the skin it covers.
Detachable hat
Comes off for the car seat and the nap, goes back on for the beach. Part of the set, not an extra.
Quick-drying
Light enough to dry between the pool and the car, which is the difference between a comfortable toddler and a cold one.
Close fit, free movement
Swim fabric is meant to sit close to the skin. Cut to stay put while a child is crawling, splashing and being picked up.

If your child is between sizes and you want a second summer out of it, size up — but expect a looser first season. Swim fabric works best fitted.
Fabric and care
Rinse after every swim in cool fresh water, straight away. Chlorine and salt are what break swim fabric down, not wear.
Dry flat, in the shade. Drying a swimsuit in full sun is what fades it.
Hand wash cool, no softener. Fabric softener coats the fibres and reduces how well the fabric blocks UV.
Do not tumble dry or iron. Heat is what kills the stretch.
